Grants for Regional Leadership Collaborations
1) Indiana Leadership Association will reserve $2,500 per region (six regions according to suggested regional map) to support collaborative efforts in which organizational members of ILA play a convening, facilitation, or participatory role, the benefits of which will have community-wide impact.
2) Examples of regional collaborations (not limited to these examples):
* Leadership training/development for community members
* Study project pertaining to a regional concern
* Hands-on project that improves a regional concern
3) Examples of how the grant money may be used (not limited to these examples)
* To pay speaker/trainer/facilitation fees
* To provide materials for participants
* To provide costs of event (room rental/refreshments)
* To implement conclusions of a study or actions of a project
4) Amounts awarded will be reimbursements for money expended by the ILA member organization in support of the collaboration. Receipts will be required before grant money is released.
5) Recipient organization must be a member of the Indiana Leadership Association and registered as a 501(c) 3. The registered official address of the applicant must be located in the region in which the funds will be used.
6) Funds are not transferable region to region unless the collaboration crosses regional boundaries. (In other words, funds not requested in one region will not necessarily be available to another region.)
7) The ILA Board must approve funds for each project or event. Assuming approval, funds will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis, and will be available until June 30, 2011.
8) After June 2011, the ILA Board will evaluate the grants program and determine disposition of any remaining funds and/or continuation of the grant program.
Grant Requirements and Points System
1. At least one board member must be directly involved in the use of the grant. That could include: help with planning, serve as a consultant, attend, speak at the event, help promote the event to ILA members, have ILA information available at the event, promote ILA as event sponsor, get the event on the ILA website and calendar, follow-up and be sure reports are submitted. Points 30
2. To encourage regional networking, grant money should benefit as many regional ILA members as possible. A wider reach and collaborative partnerships increase the possibility of receiving award. Points 40
